Bioindicators Initiative
People:
  • Lars TomanekDirector, Assistant Professor, Biological Sciences Department, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
  • Jennifer Oquendo, Postdoctoral Researcher, Biological Sciences Department, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
What is it?
In this initiative, target organisms will be idendified for tracking of changes in protein expressions. The molecular response of the target organisms will be measured and tracked. These results will be correlated with changes in physical and chemical parameters being monitored from the water quality initiative.

Goals
To develop and utilize representative bioindicators to monitor and track changes in ecosystem health. To determine the dynamics and response of secondary production in the Morro Bay ecosystem.
